Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®)

Structural Spinal Correction & Posture Rehabilitation

At Cascade Chiropractic and Decompression, we offer Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP®), an advanced, research-based chiropractic approach focused on correcting spinal alignment and improving posture for long-term health.

Many chiropractic treatments focus primarily on relieving pain or restoring joint motion. While this can be helpful, CBP goes a step further by addressing the underlying structural problems in the spine that may contribute to pain, poor posture, and long-term spinal stress.

By restoring the spine closer to its natural alignment, CBP aims to not only reduce symptoms but also improve how the body moves and functions over time.

Why Spinal Alignment Matters

Comparison of normal spinal alignment versus abnormal alignment showing the ideal curvature of the spine

The spine is designed with natural curves that help distribute weight, absorb shock, and protect the nervous system. When these curves become altered due to injury, poor posture, or long periods of sitting, it can place abnormal stress on the muscles, joints, and spinal discs.

Over time, these structural changes may contribute to problems such as chronic neck or back pain, poor posture or forward head posture, disc problems or degeneration, headaches, reduced mobility or stiffness, and nerve irritation.

CBP focuses on correcting these structural imbalances rather than simply masking symptoms.

What Makes CBP Different?

Chiropractic BioPhysics is unique because it is based on biomechanics, physics, and spinal rehabilitation principles. CBP practitioners use detailed analysis and evidence-based methods to identify structural distortions in the spine and develop a personalized treatment plan to correct them.

A key concept in CBP is "Mirror Image®" rehabilitation, where corrective exercises and traction gently guide the spine in the opposite direction of abnormal posture in order to restore healthier alignment.

What to Expect During CBP Treatment

CBP care typically involves a combination of therapies designed to gradually improve posture and spinal structure. Your treatment plan may include:

1

Posture and Spinal Analysis

We begin with a detailed evaluation of your posture, spinal alignment, and movement patterns to identify areas of structural stress.

2

Specific Chiropractic Adjustments

Precise chiropractic adjustments help restore normal joint motion and reduce irritation in the spine.

3

Corrective Spinal Traction

Specialized traction techniques are used to help restore the natural curves of the spine over time.

4

Targeted Rehabilitation Exercises

Patients learn exercises designed to strengthen supportive muscles and reinforce improved posture.

5

Progress Monitoring

Your progress may be tracked through posture measurements and periodic reassessment to ensure treatment is working effectively.

Conditions That May Benefit from CBP

CBP is commonly used to help patients experiencing:

Chronic neck pain
Chronic low back pain
Postural problems (forward head posture, rounded shoulders)
Disc injuries or degeneration
Headaches related to neck posture
Spinal misalignment from past injuries or repetitive strain

Many patients also choose CBP care simply to improve posture and spinal health before major problems develop.

Our Goal: Long-Term Structural Improvement

At Cascade Chiropractic and Decompression, our goal is not only to help you feel better, but to help your spine function better for the long term. By combining chiropractic adjustments with structural rehabilitation, Chiropractic BioPhysics care is designed to:

Improve posture
Reduce pain and muscle tension
Restore healthier spinal curves
Improve mobility and movement
Support long-term spinal health

Research & Evidence

Chiropractic BioPhysics® is supported by published research examining the relationship between spinal alignment, posture, and pain. Studies published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics and the Journal of Physical Therapy Science have demonstrated improvements in spinal curvature, pain levels, and disability following CBP-based structural rehabilitation programs.
